On Apr. 13, Park City Mountain held their annual pond skim under blue skies in front of a crowd of nearly two thousand spectators. In a late-breaking effort, Park City’s operations team proposed that Shaydar Edelmann, vice president of mountain operations, skim the pond in costume — if staff contributed to the EpicPromise Employee Foundation.That morning, Park City team members contributed $620 to the foundation, which supports Vail Resorts employees and their families with hardship grants and educational scholarships. Shaydar more than held up his end of the bargain, skimming in a costume of the team’s choosing – including fishnet stockings, heart-shaped sunglasses, a blonde wig and a Taylor Swift shirt. Great work Shaydar and Park City Mountain team! Shaydar has been at Park City since 2020 and will be taking on his next role as GM of Heavenly in June, following the retirement of current COO & VP of Heavenly and the Tahoe Region, Tom Fortune.
