At Northstar California Resort, a new café and mural brings the past and present together to honor and welcome all to enjoy the Sierra Mountains. The new VOUS café takes its name from the resort’s original lift, Rendezvous, and represents a gathering place for all. Inside the café, a stunning mural was created by artist Skye Walker, in partnership with Northstar and the Washoe Tribe. The creative process included brainstorming among resort team members, the artist, and Washoe Tribe Cultural Preservation team. One of the arms connecting in the mural is inspired by a Washoe Tribal Officer’s own tattoo. So much collaborative work went into creating this mural and space for team members and guests to gather.
