Patrollers Learn & Grow Together

Eight ski patrollers from across our resorts gathered for the company’s first-ever all-women Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Level 1 course at the Petzl Technical Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah – and they all passed with flying colors. Each patroller gained skills to bring back to their resorts to support existing lift evacuation rescue knowledge and techniques.

“Having courses where women are not just welcome, but the point is for them to be there – it encourages other women who want to be here and participate in not just this, but participate in the larger ski patrol community and outdoor spaces. And I think that’s just really important to have space that’s carved out for you, so that you know it’s okay to take up space in the larger industry,” says Park City Patroller Liana Phillips.

See what the experience was like for our team members here. Great work to Stefanie Berlow, Margaux Klingensmith, Madeleine Young, Liana Phillips, Alexandra Oberg, Jennifer Silva, Catalina Gamba, and Jordan Ginsberg!
