The Gondola Gallery by Epic - Featuring Chief Janice George and Willard "Buddy" Joseph

“It’s more than just techniques of weaving – it's about ways of being and seeing the world.” The latest Gondola Gallery by Epic art installation at Whistler Blackcomb brings to life the artistic vision of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) weavers, Chief Janice George and Buddy Joseph.

Whistler Blackcomb operates on the shared unceded territories of the Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat Nation) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) who have lived on these lands since time immemorial. In celebration and appreciation of the history, art and culture of the Squamish people, WINGS OF THUNDER wraps one of the cabins on Whistler Blackcomb’s PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. The artists hope that “guests feel inspired by the Squamish history, art and design that is alive and well today.”
