What Epic Wellness Means to Me – Koby's Story


At Beaver Creek Resort, Koby Kenny, Director of Base Area Operations, has been working for Vail Resorts for 22 years and has been volunteering as an Epic Wellness Captain for four years. Koby gives back to his community at Beaver Creek by offering his support and connecting team members to wellness resources. Koby shares what being an Epic Wellness Captain means to him and remember, you can always access all your mental wellness resources here. 

Epic Insider: How many years have you been with Vail Resorts? And for how many of those years have you been involved with Epic Wellness?
Koby: I've worked for VR for 22 years and have been the Epic Wellness Captain for 4 years.

Epic Insider: What does Epic Wellness mean to you?
Koby: Providing resources in the space of mental health and mental fitness to ensure our employees never feel lost, alone, or hopeless when dealing with emotional challenges.

Epic Insider: What's the most fulfilling aspect of being involved with Epic Wellness?
Koby: Knowing that we/I are having an impact on the lives of our employees whether we are directly aware of it or not. I appreciate that I have the opportunity to share my own personal challenges that might resonate with other employees and gives me a chance to connect with my employees and peers on a more personal level.

Epic Insider: What's one thing you wish everyone knew about Epic Wellness?
Koby: I wish that all of our employees not only knew all the resources available to them, but also knew how much of a priority their mental wellness is to our company.

Epic Insider: What's your favorite way to practice self-care?
Koby: Spending meaningful time with my wife and son help fills my cup, helps me rejuvenate, and adds balance to my life.
