What Epic Wellness Means to Me - Lisa's Story

At Stowe Mountain Resort, Lisa Bryan works as the Assistant Manager, Guest Services and has been volunteering as an Epic Wellness Captain for the last two years. Before joining Vail Resorts five years ago, Lisa worked as both a health coach and a recovery coach. She brings that experience to her work at Stowe Mountain Resort, where she supports her team by connecting peers to our wellness resources. Lisa shares what being an Epic Wellness Captain means to her and remember, you can always access all your mental wellness resources here.

Epic Insider: How many years have you been with Vail Resorts? And for how many of those years have you been involved with Epic Wellness?
Lisa: I have been employed by Vail Resorts for 5 years now and was thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to Epic Wellness two years ago. Prior to working at Stowe Mountain Resort I was a health coach as well as a recovery coach.

Epic Insider: What's the most fulfilling aspect of being involved with Epic Wellness?
Lisa: I appreciate the opportunity to connect with coworkers and to ask how they are navigating their day. Health and wellness is very subjective and personal, and solutions to challenges are individual and varied. Connecting and showing I care feels the most impactful to me; it's completely human to have ups and downs and often challenges help us to grow. That is a beautiful thing!

Epic Insider: What's one thing you wish everyone knew about Epic Wellness?
Lisa: Epic Wellness resources are available not only in a crisis but can also be a source of inspiration!

Epic Insider: What's your favorite way to practice self-care?
Lisa:
Hydration first! After that, both activity and rest keep me feeling my best; endorphins from a good workout are awesome but also taking the time to put my feet up by the fire and slow down to hear my own thoughts keeps me feeling balanced.
